Key Responsibilities
· Manage the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and logistics function, ensuring efficient, safe, and effective operations.
· Manage the warehouse and delivery team, including recruitment, onboarding, training, day-to-day supervision, and performance management to maintain a productive and well-organised operation.
· Ensure goods are received, checked, stored, and dispatched accurately and efficiently.
· Maintain accurate stock control and inventory management procedures.
· Conduct regular stock checks and investigate stock discrepancies.
· Manage the Leeds branch fleet, overseeing delivery schedules, vehicle utilisation, and route planning to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective operations.
· Work closely with sales teams and branch colleagues to ensure customer orders are fulfilled efficiently and service levels are maintained.
· Oversee warehouse health & safety and operational compliance through regular inspections and checks (including racking, ladders, and equipment), staff adherence to procedures, and the implementation of best practices to maintain a safe and organised working environment.
· Maintain high housekeeping standards across warehouse and yard areas.
· Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, warehouse processes, and customer service levels.
Undertake any other duties reasonably requested in line with the needs of the business.
Our Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
· Previous warehouse, logistics or distribution management experience.
· Experience leading and developing teams.
· Strong stock control and inventory management knowledge.
· Strong understanding of warehouse health and safety requirements.
· Competent IT skills and experience using stock management systems.
· Counterbalance Forklift licence or willingness to obtain.
