Lotus Cars Limited is the manufacturing site of Lotus in the UK. Here we produce all sportscars types such as the Emira and the Evija. To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for Process Leader's in the Manufacturing Department at LAS to join us in our manufacturing site based in Norwich.
Summary:
The Process Leader is accountable for the day-to-day leadership, performance, and development of one or more manufacturing process areas within Lotus Advanced Structures encompassing fabrication, machining, welding, composites, and assembly.
The Process Leader ensures safe, efficient, and quality-driven operations aligned with production targets and continuous improvement objectives.
The role will play a pivotal role in fostering a high-performance culture by coaching, motivating, and upskilling team members, while driving compliance with all HSE, quality, and delivery requirements.
The role is critical in delivering the production plan on time and within budget while driving continuous improvement, influencing a positive team culture, and maintaining adherence to the Lotus culture and behaviours.
What you'll do:
Respect
Lead safe operations through consistent application of HSE standards, procedures, and risk assessments.
Ensure production meets Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People (SQDCP) targets in alignment with business expectations.
Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and enhance productivity & machine ulisation
Coordinate daily and weekly operations, including resourcing, shift handovers, and cross-functional communication.
Lead problem-solving activities using structured methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, A3).
Generate and present performance reports and participate in daily/weekly tiered meetings.
One Team
Foster strong working relationships with other Process Leaders and support functions including but not limited to Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Maintenance.
Ensure compliance with company policies and support the wellbeing and safety of all colleagues.
Promote teamwork, transparency, and open communication across all shifts.
Ambition
Support deployment of lean manufacturing principles and drive 5S, visual management, and standardised work within the area.
Manage consumable usage, scrap, and cost of poor quality.
Deliver training plans and skills matrices to build cross-functional capability and resilience.
Contribute to the introduction of new products and processes, ensuring readiness and robust handover from Manufacturing Engineering to production.
Drive
Lead incident investigations, risk assessments and drive process improvements
Lead the Shell 2 problem resolution team.
Implement the company’s People Strategy by managing staffing levels, holidays, attendance, recruitment, and team discipline.
Coach and develop a high-performing team, driving operational success and Lotus way behaviours.
Motivate and coach the team to operational success, providing technical guidance
Consistently promote high standards through personal example, drive Lotus way behaviours so each team member understands the standards expected of them.
What you'll bring:
Essential:
Proven leadership & coaching experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the business (e.g., fabrication, machining, composites etc.).
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and basic problem-solving tools.
Sound understanding of HSE principles and ability to conduct risk assessments.
Clear and confident communication skills, both verbal and written.
Competent in Microsoft Office and manufacturing performance systems (MES, ERP).
Desirable:
HNC/HND or equivalent in Manufacturing or Engineering discipline.
Understanding of upstream and downstream processes including engineering change, supply chain, and quality systems.
Formal training or qualification in lean/continuous improvement.
Excellent presentation skills and IT literacy including ChatGPT & AI

The role will be based at Lotus Advanced Structures (LAS)
Shift work may be required depending on operational demand. In addition, occasional Friday/weekend working or out-of-hours support may be necessary to meet business needs
