E&I Design Engineer
Altrad are currently looking for an E&I Design Engineer to join the Silos PFCS Supporting Projects E&I Design Team. The role will focus on delivering, supporting and checking engineering design packages that meet safety, functional and business requirements across a range of electrical infrastructure and instrumentation projects.
Key Deliverables:
- Deliver E&I design packages in line with safety, functional and business requirements.
- Support other engineers in the delivery of E&I design activities.
- Undertake independent checking and verification of engineering design packages.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards, company procedures and project requirements.
- Produce and review engineering documentation from concept design through to handover.
- Develop electrical design solutions for small power, lighting and earthing systems.
- Interface with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integrated and coordinated design solutions.
- Provide E&I engineering support to construction activities as required.
- Provide E&I engineering support to commissioning activities as required.
- Apply engineering quality assurance and design governance principles throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the successful delivery of project objectives, schedules and milestones.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to early career engineers.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum HNC qualification in a relevant Electrical, Instrumentation, Control or Engineering discipline.
- Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status as a minimum professional qualification.
- Current SC (Security Check) clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain SC clearance.
- Ability to work 37 hours per week over a 4½ day working pattern.
- Willingness to work a minimum of 3 days per week at Hinton House, Warrington, Cheshire.
- Minimum 3 years' experience successfully delivering electrical design solutions on multidisciplinary engineering projects.
- Proven experience delivering engineering designs from concept design through to handover.
- Working knowledge of engineering standards applicable to electrical supply infrastructure, including:
- Small power systems
- Lighting systems
- Earthing systems
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical information across engineering disciplines.
- Experience providing engineering support to construction activities.
- Experience providing engineering support to commissioning activities.
- Willingness to support and develop early career engineers.
