Due to our current Housekeeper moving into a Nursery Practitioner role within our service, we are looking to welcome a new Housekeeper to our team at The Orchard Nature Nursery Limited.
Our Housekeeper plays an important role in the day-to-day running of The Orchard, helping us maintain the clean, welcoming and homely environment we are proud to provide for our children, families and team.
This is a busy and varied role, with the day generally split between supporting our kitchen followed by housekeeping and the upkeep of our nursery environment.
The role will include:
Kitchen & lunchtime support
- Setting up our dining areas ready for lunch
- Supporting with serving meals to the children
- Clearing, cleaning and resetting dining areas
- Supporting our Nursery Chef with general kitchen duties
- Keeping on top of nursery laundry throughout the day
- Preparing and serving light teas or simple warm meals when required, including during our Chef's half days and periods of annual leave
- Level 3 food hygiene training will be provided if required
Housekeeping & environment
- Daily cleaning and general upkeep of the nursery
- Completing planned deeper-cleaning tasks
- Washing, drying and organising nursery laundry
- Helping to keep rooms, communal spaces and staff areas clean, organised and welcoming
- Monitoring cleaning and household stock levels
- Taking pride in noticing the little jobs that help keep our environment looking its best
- Following appropriate health, safety, hygiene and food-safety procedures
We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and self-motivated, who takes pride in their work and is comfortable working independently while also being part of our wider nursery team.
Hours: Monday–Friday, 10:30am–5pm
The successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory references and PVG Scheme requirements.
