Scope:
Consortio Security are looking to recruit 1 professional Security Officer with Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) experience, to join a well-established PBSA site in Chester as per the shifts highlighted above.
If you are flexible and can work more you will also be offered all holiday, sickness, compassionate and extra shifts that become available.
Part of the role is to move between 2 separate buildings approx. half a mile apart if you are not willing to do this or undertake such a role please do not apply. As part of your role, you will be asked to undertake basic housekeeping duties as and when required, again if you are unwilling to undertakes such roles and responsibilities please do not apply.
The successful candidate should be confident in undertaking different roles and responsibilities as part of a team or by themselves.
To be considered for this role you must hold an active SIA License be it Close Protection, Door Supervisor or Security Guard. You must have an in date First Aid Qualification and be no further than a 30-minute commute from the site in Chester.
If you have a can-do attitude and a will to succeed you will be successful in the recruitment process and the subsequent role. If you lack people skills or struggle to communicate, please do not apply for this role as a huge percentage of it will involve talking to employees, residents and visitors and you won’t enjoy the role. The role involves supporting young intellectual persons; therefore, you must be supportive but fully understand your professional boundaries.
This role would suit someone who is flexible, able to think on their feet, and able to constantly prioritise tasks ensuring that the most important issues are dealt with first and foremost. The role can be very busy at times, so if you don’t like to be busy at work do not apply.
You must be able to commute to site using your own transport if you cannot do that please do not apply. If you have applied for a role with us previously and failed to answer our questions or failed to attend an arranged interview, again do not apply.
If you pass initial screening you will be sent a number of different questions, anyone not answering the questions won’t proceed in the recruitment process. A telephone interview will then take place and any unsuitable candidates will not be put forward for a in person interview with the Regional Operations Manager.
All site training will take place prior to mobilisation.

Job Description:
Purpose of the role: To provide an efficient and professional security service to Consortio Security’s clients as specified, demonstrating the highest levels of professionalism, customer service, and integrity.
Main Duties:
Main Duties include Controlling access and egress to site, booking staff and visitors onto the site, patrolling the site internally and externally, parcel management, immediate first aid management prior to the emergency services attending the site, fire evacuation and testing procedures, coordinating safe movement of staff and visitors whilst they are on site as well as incident management.
Duties:
- Move between 2 separate locations undertaking roles and responsibilities discussed as part of the interview process
- Basic housekeeping roles and responsibilities
- Control access and egress, utilising the equipment and systems provided
- Ensure clients’ staff, property and other assets are secure
- Answer all enquiries courteously and professionally
- Accurately operate designated alarm systems
- Monitor CCTV footage for protection of property and assets
- Complete the daily log, noting all appropriate activity
- Produce accurate reports as and when needed
- Conduct sufficient internal and external patrols to ensure security of all zones utilizing technical capabilities
- Ensure all procedures, site / assignment instructions and protocols are always followed; being particularly diligent when in an emergency
- Maintain tidy and clean work areas
- Dealing with post and parcels and then signing them out to residents
- Ensuring personal boundaries are always adhered to making sure that the line is never crossed
- Be an effective ambassador for Consortio, always smart and diligent with high levels of integrity
- Previous Student Accommodation experience in a fast-paced environment would be beneficial.
The above duties are subject to additional duties as per the site’s Assignment Instructions; however, if there is a conflict of duties, the Assignment Instructions will prevail.
Essential Requirements:
- A current SIA Licence – Carried on your person at all times whilst on duty
- Smart appearance, following the Consortio uniform requirements to the letter
- Good verbal communication skills, pleasant manner, approachable, clearly spoken
- Shows excellent customer care skills
- Always shows courtesy and respect for people in all situations
- Possesses computer literacy of at least a basic level
- Demonstrates basic numeracy and literacy skills for following instructions and preparing reports
- Demonstrates good observation skills and an attention to detail
- Remains calm and professional under pressure
- Always punctual and reliable
- Demonstrates a flexible attitude to changing working hours and patterns
- Must demonstrate understanding of Health & Safety requirements when handling and using machinery and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment
