About the role
Balfour Beatty Power T&D are looking for an Engineering Manager to join the team in Aberdeen Scotland.
Role Purpose
Engineering Managers are expected to work closely with the Project Manager and lead positive engagement with internal and external stakeholders to manage the scope, risks and programme of the project.
This is expected to include coordinating with all the functions within Balfour Beatty, with an emphasis on providing the right engineering solutions both from a technical and value engineering perspective. Working with the technical team to ensure resource capability and availability for their project following successful handover and throughout the Project Delivery, including the management of change and optioneering necessary for construction projects.
What you'll be doing
- Manage delivery of the Design & Engineering project scope of works.
- Deliver the D&E scope of works to programme, budget, quality and safety.
- Identify and manage D&E project risks, implementing the necessary mitigations.
- Lead the Design Engineers and interfaces with other parties, through effective communication.
- Ensure adherence to Governance processes, the Gated Lifecycle and Right First Time.
Who we're looking for
- Degree level education or the equivalent with formal training in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Working towards Incorporated membership of ICE, IMechE or IET
- Experience Leading Engineering teams, in the delivery of design and build construction or installation projects
- Familiarity with the Power Industry is beneficial
