Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead our Eccles nursery. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the setting, ensuring outstanding childcare, strong team leadership, regulatory compliance, and a positive experience for children, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
● Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing nursery team
● Foster a positive, professional, and inclusive working culture
● Manage staff performance, supervision, appraisals, and development
Operational Management
● Oversee the daily running of the nursery, ensuring smooth operations
● Manage staffing ratios, rotas, and occupancy levels
● Ensure effective administrative and operational systems are in place
Quality, Compliance & Safeguarding
● Ensure full compliance with EYFS, Ofsted, safeguarding, and health & safety requirements
● Maintain high standards of care, learning, and development across the nursery
● Lead and prepare the setting for Ofsted inspections
Parent & Community Engagement
● Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers
● Handle parent enquiries, feedback, and concerns professionally
● Represent Rainbow Tots positively within the local community
Business & Financial Awareness
● Support budget management and cost control
● Maximise occupancy and contribute to the nursery’s financial sustainability
Essential Qualifications & Experience
● Level 3 childcare qualification (minimum)
● Significant experience in an early years setting
● Proven experience in a leadership or management role
● Strong working knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures
Desirable
● Level 5 or above in Early Years Leadership or Management
● Experience managing Ofsted inspections
● Understanding of nursery business operations and occupancy management
