The Royal Naval Benevolent Trust is a Royal Navy & Royal Marine charity that gives help, in cases of need, to serving and former Royal Naval ratings and Royal Marines. We also help their partners, children and some others connected with them. The RNBT has a ‘family-run’ feel and we have carefully created a supportive, friendly and close-knit team making it a unique and very special place to work.
Admiral Jellicoe House is a purpose-built 66 bed care home for veterans and spouses of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines in Portsmouth which opened in June 2022. Our residents and staff enjoy a varied yet familiar way of life to encourage independence and give each day meaning and purpose.
Working with Meaningful Care Matters we have started to implement the Butterfly approach of care, where we are one family at Admiral Jellicoe House.

We have a very different approach to delivering care and are now recruiting for Night Carers to join our team at Admiral Jellicoe House.
This role provides a critical support to our residents who live as part of our family. We have adopted “The Butterfly Approach” and our care model is based on valuing individuals.
We are one family; we wear our own clothes and recognise the contribution that every single one of our team can make.
- Offering support and companionship to our residents
- Providing personal care
- Supporting mealtimes and ensuring our residents enjoy a nutritious, balanced diet
- Liaising with relatives and enhancing the quality of life of our residents
- Administering medication
- Working effectively within a team

This role would suit a highly organised individual, preferably who has experience in a caring post. The role is fast-paced and varied so an ability to work in an environment which has changing priorities is essential.
