IT Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Technician to join our IT support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer systems, hardware, software, and network infrastructure. The role involves providing technical support to users, ensuring the reliability and security of IT systems, and assisting with the implementation and maintenance of technology solutions. This is a paid, full-time position offering opportunities for career growth within the information technology sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, and user accounts.
- Configure and maintain LAN/WAN networks, VPN connections, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor system performance and carry out routine maintenance, software updates, and security patches.
- Maintain IT documentation, asset records, and support tickets using IT service management systems.
- Assist with system upgrades, data backups, and the deployment of new hardware and software.
- Provide guidance to users on IT systems and follow organisational IT security procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in an IT support or IT technician role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Good understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
