Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide high-quality support to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and private homes. Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support with medication administration in accordance with prescribed schedules
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional wellbeing
- Manage behaviour effectively, especially in cases of dementia or Alzheimer's disease
- Provide specialised care for clients with complex needs, including hospice or palliative care
- Drive clients to appointments or outings when necessary, ensuring safety during transportation
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in client condition
- Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when required
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, including dementia and Alzheimer's care
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact empathetically with clients of all ages
- Certification or training in first aid is advantageous
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; a caring attitude is essential
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a supportive environment
