Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor environments, ensuring safety, aesthetic appeal, and functionality. Responsibilities
- Conduct landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, planting, and weed control to ensure attractive and healthy outdoor spaces.
- Operate mechanical equipment such as ride on mower and power tools.
- Use hand tools for strimming, trimming, and general grounds upkeep.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with construction or renovation projects related to outdoor spaces as required.
- Maintain safety standards by inspecting work areas regularly and adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and to high standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance, or horticulture is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to power tools.
- Competence in using hand tools safely and effectively.
- Basic understanding of maintenance procedures for outdoor environments.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail.
- PA1 and PA6 qualifications, certifications in horticulture or landscaping are advantageous but not essential.
