We are looking for one full time or two part-time people to support and assist a 37-year-old non-verbal autistic male in daily routines and light household tasks to enable him to live independently and access the community.
Experience of care, epilepsy, and autism is preferred but not essential.
It would be an ideal role for someone with family experience who is warm, kind and emotionally intelligent, with the ability to work independently. As the role requires lone working and sleeps it would not be suitable for applicants with young family or daily pet commitments. It is not a physical role and transport is provided during working hours,
The successful candidate(s) should live within a 15–20-mile radius of Littleport, have excellent communication skills in English, be blessed with common sense and be -
■ punctual, reliable, and trustworthy
■ patient, understanding and show initiative
■ have a clean, valid UK driving licence and be able to drive a manual car
■ a non-smoker
■ competent in the kitchen
■ able to swim
■ be creative with the ability to work independently
The role if for one person is 120 waking hours and 8 non-waking sleeps over a 4-week period, Or, if for two people it would be 60 waking hours and 4 non-waking sleeps over a 4-week period,
There is a requirement to work one weekend in four.
The salary is £14.00 per hour, £40 per night for sleeps and 5 weeks holiday per year.
An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate(s), plus two references .
