We've been operating for over 14 years and have built a strong base of long-standing domestic and commercial customers throughout Cheltenham and the surrounding areas.
Our clients include local councils, major high-street chains, high-end building contractors, estate agents and property managers, alongside residential customers.
We're continuing to grow and are looking for an experienced Plumbing & Heating Engineer to work alongside Mark Bramley and the rest of our team.
You'll meet at our Leckhampton premises each morning before heading out to jobs. We very rarely work away, with the majority of our work located within approximately one hour of Cheltenham.
The Role
This is a varied position covering plumbing, heating and mechanical work across both residential and commercial properties.
We install a large number of air source heat pump systems, and this is a significant and growing part of our business.
Experience with heat pumps would be a big advantage, but it isn't essential. If you're an experienced plumbing and heating engineer with the right attitude, we'll provide training and help you develop your skills in heat pumps and renewable technologies.
Your work will include:
- Air source heat pump installations, servicing and maintenance
- Plumbing and heating installations
- Boiler servicing, maintenance and repairs
- Heating system fault-finding and diagnostics
- General plumbing repairs and maintenance
- Installation and repair of pipework, valves, fittings and fixtures
- Hot and cold-water systems
- Heating and ventilation systems
- Planned and preventative maintenance
- Responding to plumbing and heating breakdowns
- Refurbishment and new-build projects
- Completing relevant job sheets, certificates and paperwork
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to the appropriate regulations and trade standards
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is experienced, reliable and takes genuine pride in their work.
You should have:
- Plumbing qualifications – NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds or equivalent
- Good experience within plumbing and heating
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A professional approach when dealing with customers
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A full UK driving licence
Gas Safe qualifications and experience would be highly desirable.
Previous experience with air source heat pumps, HVAC or renewable technologies would be an advantage, but isn't essential.
Training & Career Development
Renewables are a major and growing part of Forbes George.
We already install a significant number of air source heat pumps, alongside solar PV, battery storage and air conditioning systems.
We're keen to hear from experienced engineers who either already have heat-pump experience or want to develop their career in renewable heating and newer technologies.
Further training and development will be available in areas including:
- Air source heat pump installation, commissioning and servicing
- Heat pump system design and controls
- Air conditioning / HVAC
- Renewable heating technologies
- Solar PV and associated renewable systems
You don't need to already be a heat-pump expert. If you're a good plumbing and heating engineer with the right attitude, we'll help you develop those skills.
