SENDSTAFF is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive school in Northfield for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs.
- Support children with a range of SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, learning difficulties and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and differentiated learning activities.
- Encourage pupils' independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
- Help implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Foster positive behaviour through encouragement, consistency and effective behaviour management strategies.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents to support positive outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational or SEND setting.
- A caring, patient and positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to adapt to the individual needs of each child.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Desirable:
- Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3).
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or other SEND needs.
- Team Teach or other behaviour management training.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
