Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing warehouse operations, including materials handling, shipping and receiving, and operating forklift equipment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge to contribute to a well-organised logistics environment. Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load and unload goods
- Manage materials handling tasks, ensuring accurate movement of stock within the warehouse
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and inventory checks
- Maintain organisation of warehouse storage areas to optimise space utilisation
- Conduct basic equipment repairs or report maintenance issues promptly
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and stock levels
- Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Support stock replenishment and order fulfilment activities
- Assist in general warehouse housekeeping to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements
- Forklift experience in forklift operation-optional
- Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge or basic understanding of equipment repair is advantageous
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) preferred
- Ability to handle materials safely and efficiently, including heavy lifting
- Basic maths skills for inventory counts and documentation accuracy
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Physical fitness to perform manual handling tasks throughout the shift
Pay: From £12.80 per hour
