Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Responsibilities
- Analyse project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare comprehensive electrical cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements.
- Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and labour.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including labour, materials, equipment, and overheads.
- Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process to ensure estimates are accurate and profitable.
- Assist in the review of contractual documents and scope of work to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain organised records of all estimates, quotations, and related documentation for future reference.
- Support the procurement team by providing cost insights during tender negotiations.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, new materials, and technological advancements relevant to electrical estimating.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or engineering sectors.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation processes.
- Proficiency in estimating software programmes and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrable expertise in cost control techniques to optimise project budgets effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in all work outputs.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.
- Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering or construction management are preferred but not essential.
