About the Role
We are seeking an inspirational, experienced, and dynamic leader to take on the role of Acting Headteacher on a 11-month maternity cover contract. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a committed staff team and make a meaningful impact on the continued success and development of our school.
Leadership Support & Transition
To ensure continuity and success in the role:
v A comprehensive transition period will be provided prior to the current Headteacher beginning maternity leave, ensuring a smooth handover of responsibilities.
v A former Headteacher will remain available throughout the maternity period to offer guidance, support, and continuity, providing reassurance and stability for both the successful candidate and the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities
v Provide strong, strategic leadership to staff and pupils
v Maintain and build upon high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement
v Foster a positive and inclusive school culture
v Work collaboratively with governors, staff, parents, and the wider community
v Ensure effective day-to-day management of the school
About You
The successful candidate will:
v Have proven leadership experience within a school setting
v Demonstrate a clear vision for educational excellence
v Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
v Be resilient, adaptable, and committed to pupil outcomes
v Be capable of confidently leading the school while embracing the support structures in place
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised qualification
