Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in their own homes. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure the wellbeing of clients. Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support with mobility and transferring, ensuring safety at all times
- Help with household chores including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Administer medication in accordance with care plans and instructions
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in client condition
- Follow individualised care plans tailored to each client’s needs
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred for transporting clients but not essential as walking positions are available.
- Good organisational skills and ability to follow care plans accurately
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a caring and respectful attitude towards clients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed
