Thermal Insulation Technician (Apprenticeship)
ThermalVent (Wales & West) have opportunities available for a Thermal Insulation Technician Apprenticeship. This position will be based in and around the Newport and Cardiff area. This position will provide the individual to gain skills and qualifications within the insulation sector and how to apply insulation and cladding products to a variety of pipework and ventilation systems as well as acoustic insulation, trace heating and fire protection systems.
The successful candidate will be on the basis of a 3-6 month probation period prior to being placed on the apprenticeship scheme.
Successful apprentices will have the opportunity of on the job training across a variety of our current and future sites, which vary from Schools, Office Blocks and Hospital facilities as well as classroom learning.
Role Duties:
- Applying a variety of insulation materials to pipework and ventilation systems
- Applying a variety of cladding finishes to pipework and ventilation systems
- Applying fire rated insulation to fire rated ventilation systems
- Trace heating to pipework systems for both frost protection and heat maintenance
- Liaising with site teams to understand the requirement for specific sites
- Liaising with the procurement team within our Milford Haven Office prior to and whilst on sites
Required Skills:
- Ability to work both as an individual and as part of a team
- Be able to use own initiative
- Be comfortable with working and staying away from home
- Ability to adapt to working environments e.g., at heights and within confined spaces
- Good time management skills
- Ability to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner as you will be representing the whole company on any sites attended
- Be able to overcome obstacles and be willing to learn
