Salary:
Highest hourly rate pay in the central belt for this type of role.
Overtime opportunities are plentiful and ongoing.
Hours:
35-45 hours per week which is spread over Monday to Friday
45 Hours April - October
35 Hours November - March
Summary
Grounds Maintenance Operative is a vital role within our team based in Edinburgh. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance of our clients' outdoor spaces, contributing directly to our mission of making an Instant Impact through professional grounds care.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, and general garden care
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and gardening equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain irrigation systems and ensure proper functioning
- Assist with the use of machinery such as excavators when required
- Conduct routine site inspections to identify areas needing attention
- Support team members in ongoing groundskeeping projects
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times
- Contribute to sustainable practices by managing waste and using eco-friendly methods
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance or horticulture preferred
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques and equipment operation
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and gardening machinery
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous but not essential
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Valid driving Licence is Essential

Grounds maintenance: 5 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
PA1 Pesticide Certificate (required)
PA6 Spraying Licence (required)
Driving Licence (required)
