Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Solar Installer to join our renewable energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing solar photovoltaic systems on various types of properties, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. Duties
- Prepare installation sites by clearing and levelling surfaces as required.
- Assemble and install solar panels, mounting systems, and electrical components according to technical drawings and safety protocols.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators for site preparation when necessary.
- Use hand tools and power tools proficiently to secure mounting brackets, panels, and electrical connections.
- Conduct wiring and electrical connections in compliance with electrical codes and standards.
- Perform welding tasks where structural modifications or custom mounts are needed.
- Inspect completed installations to ensure proper functioning and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience with hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to solar panel installation processes.
- Electrical experience or background is highly desirable for wiring and system integration tasks.
- Experience operating excavators or similar heavy machinery is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to construction, electrical work, and working at heights.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to on-site challenges.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
- Physical fitness with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
