Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Sous chef. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in food production and kitchen operations, and a passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences. This role offers an opportunity to oversee daily kitchen activities, ensure food safety standards are maintained, and mentor junior staff members to achieve operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all aspects of food preparation and cooking within the kitchen environment
- Manage and oversee food production processes to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency
- Lead, motivate, and support team members to foster a collaborative and productive work atmosphere
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and presentation standards
- Oversee stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory levels
- Provide training and mentorship to junior staff members on culinary techniques and safety procedures
- Maintain high standards of hospitality by ensuring timely service and customer satisfaction during serving periods
- Monitor kitchen operations during busy periods to optimise workflow and minimise waste
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a food production or hospitality setting
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
- Experience in restaurant or catering environments is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
- A passion for culinary arts with a focus on quality service delivery
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings involving serving customers is advantageous
