Job Title: Phlebotomist
Location: Binscombe Medical Centre
Hours: 3 x 4 hour shifts - Monday and Wednesday afternoons and Friday morning
Rate of Pay: From £13.00 per hour, depending on experience
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Phlebotomist to work within a friendly primary care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venepuncture safely and efficiently for patients of all ages
- Label and handle samples in accordance with clinical protocols
- Patient blood pressure (training would be given if required)
- Ensure accurate patient identification and record-keeping
- Maintain high standards of infection control and hygiene
- Provide a calm and reassuring experience for patients
- Work collaboratively with the wider practice and extended access team
Requirements
- Proven experience in phlebotomy (primary care experience desirable)
- Relevant training/certification in venepuncture
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in a busy clinic setting
- Knowledge of EMIS is an advantage
