Waggin & Walkin is a professional dog walking and pet care business in Milton Keynes. We’re looking for a walker who treats our dogs with love, care and respect. If you’re enthusiastic, reliable and love dogs, this could be the perfect role for you.
The role
The safety and welfare of our dogs is our top priority. You won’t be sent out with unfamiliar dogs straight away. You’ll spend time with our existing team learning the dogs and routines, and once you’re confident, you’ll carry out walks independently.

- Evening or weekend workers

- Parents with school‑age children (you’d need holiday childcare cover, as we walk all year round)
- Those with daytime hours available
It’s great for anyone who wants to spend more time outdoors and loves being around animals.
This is a buildable role. To start with, we’re particularly looking for someone who can provide holiday cover and support during busier periods. Hours are flexible and not guaranteed at first, but we’ll build your schedule up as quickly as possible, with the potential for ongoing work as part of our team.
Location
Due to the areas we cover, applicants should ideally live in or within about 1 mile of these areas, to keep travelling to a minimum:
MK4 | MK5 | MK8
You must also drive and have your own suitable 5‑door vehicle (hatchback/estate/4x4) capable of safely transporting dogs.
Hours
Our dog walks run Monday to Friday, roughly 9am–4pm. Hours are flexible and variable within this window, depending on our needs, staff holidays and available work. The role is part‑time with no guaranteed hours at first, but we expect opportunities to increase as the business grows.

- Has a genuine love for dogs and cares about their welfare
- Is confident walking all breeds and sizes of dog
- Is reliable, punctual, trustworthy and able to work independently
- Is able to make good decisions, use common sense and take initiative
- Is physically fit and happy walking in all weather conditions
- Has previous experience with dogs
- Is enthusiastic, happy and bubbly, with a real love for animals
You must have
✓ Live in MK4, MK5 or MK8, or within about 1 mile of these areas
✓ Own a suitable 5‑door vehicle (hatchback/estate/4x4)
✓ Have previous experience with dogs
✓ Be available Monday to Friday during daytime hours, including school holidays
A DBS check will be required if offered the role. We can assist you with obtaining this.

You will be self‑employed and work with us as a subcontractor. You will be responsible for your own tax and National Insurance.
