Senior Care Support Worker
Duties:
- All care workers will commute between service users in the district area
- Assisting the patient with bathing, grooming and getting dressed
- Handling household tasks like grocery shopping and laundry
- To fulfil service users’ nutritional needs ie. Making them drinks and ensure they have a meal and all nutritional needs are met at required times.
- Administer medications following Medication Administration Record Forms. Administering oral and topical medication under the supervision of medical personnel
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
- Provide mental and emotional support
- Making recommendations to family members and health care personnel on the plan of care
- Organising suitable recreational activities for the patient
- Complete documentation records as per service user visit
- Have effective communication skills to work as part of a team
- Liaise, collaborate and communicate with other health and social care professionals to provide the best possible care
- To carry out spot checks on junior care support workers and service users
- To manage/monitor team standards are maintained to company expectations
- Oncall duties to be completed on a rotational basis (Pay Given)
- Responsible to maintain full availability on working days
- Responsible for answering phone calls/oncall from 5pm. Answering any enquiries and calls from staff for support on any working day
- To liaise with Care Co-ordinators re service user care requirements and any staffing concerns
- Be fully flexible where possible with rota and shift pattern
- Alternate weekend work
- Must have Full UK Drivers Licence
Experience:
- Previous experience (Ideally 12 months plus) in caregiving or a related field
- Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
