About the Role
Natural Environmental Engineering Ltd is a rapidly growing engineering company specialising in the maintenance, servicing and repair of heavy industrial recycling machinery throughout the UK.
Due to continued expansion, we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Service Engineer / Mechanical Technician to join our engineering team.
This is a hands-on role working both in our workshop and on customer sites, carrying out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and machinery installations on a variety of heavy industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical servicing and repairs on heavy industrial machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance.
- Repair and service diesel engines where required.
- Carry out hydraulic and mechanical repairs.
- Undertake welding and fabrication work where necessary.
- Complete service reports and maintain high engineering standards.
- Work safely both in the workshop and on customer sites.
Essential Requirements
- Proven mechanical engineering experience, ideally working on heavy plant, industrial or recycling machinery.
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Competent in using electronic job management software to accurately complete job sheets, record work carried out, parts used and time spent.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, providing updates on work completed, machine condition and any recommendations for further repairs or maintenance.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Desirable Skills
Experience with any of the following would be advantageous, but is not essential:
- MIG, MMA or fabrication welding.
- CAT, Cummins or other industrial diesel engines.
- Hydraulic systems.
- Recycling, quarrying or heavy plant equipment.
Pay: £39,300.00-£43,700.00 per year
