Duties
- Prepare and cook a diverse range of meals according to recipes and menu specifications
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist in planning new menus and developing new dishes to enhance the dining experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing, sanitising, and storing equipment and ingredients
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Serve food to customers when required, providing excellent customer service
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, ideally within a restaurant or catering setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to prepare meals efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure during peak hours
- Good communication skills to work effectively within a team
- Flexibility to adapt to different cuisines and menu requirements
- Previous experience in serving or front-of-house roles is advantageous but not essential
