About Us
J&K Construction Ltd is a growing construction company based in Southport, delivering residential, commercial and industrial projects throughout the North West. We undertake a wide variety of works ranging from domestic extensions and landscaping projects to commercial refurbishments and industrial maintenance contracts.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Groundworker / Hard Landscaper to join our team on a full-time basis.
The Role
The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects including domestic, commercial and industrial works. You will be expected to work independently when required, as well as lead or work alongside other members of our team.
Projects are predominantly located in Southport, Formby and the surrounding areas, although travel may be required to sites across Liverpool, Manchester, Leyland and other locations within approximately one hour of Southport.
A company van will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating mini excavators and other small plant
- Installing domestic and small commercial drainage systems
- Excavation and preparation works
- Excavating and installing foundations for extensions and new build projects
- Laying paving, porcelain paving, flagging and kerbing
- Hard landscaping works
- Setting out and working from construction drawings
- Concreting and groundworks associated with building projects
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and site safety
- Working independently and managing small projects when required
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in groundworks and hard landscaping
- Ability to operate mini excavators competently
- Experience installing drainage systems
- Experience laying paving and porcelain paving to a high standard
- Ability to read and work from drawings
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Good understanding of construction health and safety
- Reliable, hardworking and self-motivated
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
Desirable Qualifications (not essential)
- CPCS or NPORS plant tickets
- CSCS Card
- Dumper or Roller tickets
- First Aid qualification

Working Hours
Monday to Friday
7:30am – 4:00pm
Occasional weekend working may be required, with overtime paid where applicable.
