HS2, Britain’s new high-speed railway is at peak construction. Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.

Current Opportunity: Compliance Administrator
Location:
Based in Birmingham - the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S. More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region. This region, which covers a complex urban environment, also includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel. It also includes Interchange Station, as well as crossing three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).
Role description:
POWRA Monitoring:
- Review and monitor Point of Work Risk Assessments for all inspection-related tasks.
- Ensure POWRAs are completed accurately and reflect current site conditions.
- Provide guidance to teams on risk mitigation and safe working practices.
LOLER Documentation Oversight:
- Monitor and maintain LOLER inspection records for all lifting equipment and accessories.
- Ensure all lifting gear is certified, inspected, and compliant with statutory requirements.
- Work with Training & Equipment Compliance Officer (TBC) to help schedule inspections and identify any issues with documentation to resolve in a timely manner
- Work to improve process and relationships with third parties to minimise errors and reduce downtime.
- Support audits and ensure documentation is readily available and up to date.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, POWRAs, LOLER certificates, and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with LOLER, PUWER, and other relevant legislation.
- Support audits and investigations with detailed documentation.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement improvements to inspection and risk assessment workflows.
- Collaborate with logistics, maintenance, and site teams to enhance efficiency.
- Use data and KPIs to drive performance and reduce downtime.
Dalux Assistance
- Collate data from Plant Inspectors for assurance purposes.
- Assist with communicating changes/modifications/updates to the forms.
- Ensure information is stored correctly & easily accessible for the team.
- Attend meetings with Dalux to improve flow & productivity for the team.
Fuel Card
- Collect & share fuel receipts in line with the policy.
- Ensure all team members are aware of any changes/updates.
Essential Experience:
- Experience in plant operations or equipment management within construction.
- Strong understanding of inspection coordination, LOLER compliance, and risk assessment processes.
- Familiarity with POWRA procedures and health & safety legislation (e.g., LOLER, PUWER).
- Excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using asset management and safety documentation systems.
