The Senior Estates Officer (Mechanical) is a senior technical specialist who provides Authorised Person cover, mechanical engineering assurance and specialist support for the Trust’s mechanical infrastructure and systems. The post holder owns delegated statutory compliance duties within their appointed mechanical disciplines, supports the Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager in maintaining safe, resilient and compliant services, and provides technical leadership to operational colleagues, contractors and project teams working on mechanical systems.
The post holder does not normally hold direct line management responsibility, but provides day-to-day technical leadership, mentoring, specialist advice and professional support to Estates operational staff, contractors and project teams working within mechanical disciplines.
The post holder will act as an Authorised Person for one or more specialist mechanical disciplines, as determined by service need, competence, training, appointment limits and formal sign-off, supporting the Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager in ensuring mechanical systems remain safe, compliant, resilient and fit for purpose across all Trust sites.
The role contributes specialist expertise to planned and reactive maintenance, statutory compliance, capital projects, minor works, asset management and the Trust's Integrated Management System (IMS), working closely with operational teams, contractors, Authorising Engineers and specialist suppliers.
