A market-leading engineering and manufacturing business operating within the Offshore & Renewables sector is looking for an experienced Quality Manager to join its senior leadership team.
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving quality performance across the business. The successful candidate will lead the Quality function, develop and maintain robust quality systems, influence quality culture throughout the organisation and work closely with operations, engineering and senior management to support continued growth and operational excellence.
We are particularly interested in candidates who combine strong quality management experience with proven leadership capability within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Quality Manager Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Quality function across the business
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (ISO 9001)
- Drive a positive quality culture throughout the organisation
- Manage and develop direct reports through coaching, mentoring and performance management
- Monitor quality KPIs, identify trends and implement improvement initiatives
- Lead investigations into quality issues and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented
- Conduct internal audits and manage external certification audits
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve quality performance
- Manage customer quality issues and support supplier quality improvements
- Ensure compliance with internal, customer and regulatory requirements
- Support continuous improvement activities and root cause analysis initiatives
- Provide regular quality and performance reporting to senior leadership
Quality Manager Requirements
- Previous experience in a Quality Manager, Senior Quality Engineer or Quality Leadership position
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification
- Experience leading audits, investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement activities
- Proven team leadership and people management experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with production, engineering and operational teams
- Supplier and customer quality experience would be advantageous
- Experience with IATF16949 would be beneficial but is not essential
