About Applied Medical Technology Ltd
Applied Medical Technology Ltd (established 1998) is the UK’s leading distributor of specialised medical device systems dedicated to the subcutaneous administration of drugs across a wide range of therapeutic areas. We supply an innovative portfolio of infusion pumps and high-quality disposable consumables engineered over decades of experience to deliver reliable, comfortable, and convenient care.
Well-established across the NHS, private hospital networks, and homecare sectors throughout the UK and Northern Ireland, we are seeking a motivated, charismatic, and driven sales professional to join our growing team. Whether you are looking to break into medical sales or are an experienced healthcare sales representative seeking autonomy and rapid career growth, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on patients' quality of life.
Role Overview
As our Medical Device Area Representative, you will manage a hybrid sales model splitting your focus between retaining and growing existing accounts and driving new business development. You will act as a consultative specialist, engaging directly with hospital clinicians, hematology and infusion departments, procurement teams, and NHS community nursing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Territory & Account Management: Manage, retain, and expand existing accounts across single- and multi-site NHS Trusts, private hospital groups, and homecare organisations.
- New Business Development: Prospect, call, network, and convert new leads to introduce our market-leading infusion pump options and medical device consumables.
- Clinical Demonstrations & Support: Deliver engaging product presentations, clinical demonstrations, and support NHS Patient Demonstration Clinics and educational events.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Target and build long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including Consultants, Pharmacists, NHS Community Nursing Teams, and Procurement.
- Exhibitions & Conferences: Represent the company at international, national, and regional exhibitions, managing conference budgets and converting prospective delegate leads.
- Pipeline & Market Intelligence: Track complex sales cycles (1–18 months), interpret clinical data, monitor competitor activity, and align strategies with evolving NHS developments.
Candidate Profile
Essential Criteria:
- Proven track record in B2B or consultative healthcare sales, key account management, and pipeline development.
- Ability to understand complex medical devices (infusion pumps), haemoglobin/haematology clinical applications, and plasma mechanics.
- Experience managing multi-stakeholder procurement processes across public (NHS) and private healthcare sectors.
- Outstanding presentation, active listening, and negotiation skills, with comfort presenting to small and large groups of medical professionals.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and creative mindset capable of working independently in a hybrid field model.
Desirable Background & Education:
- Background in Healthcare, Diagnostics, Orthopaedics, Laboratory Equipment, Pharmaceuticals, Surgical Products, or Medical Consumables.
- Previous experience in roles such as Territory Sales Representative, Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, or Clinical Sales Specialist.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary with an uncapped, dual-incentive commission structure.
- Family-friendly, flexible hours (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM) in a hybrid field/home-office model.
- Personal mileage allowance, mobile phone, and laptop.
