Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to patients in care homes or home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The Healthcare Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and deliver high-quality support tailored to individual needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as washing, dressing, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
- Support the implementation of personalised care plans under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and record patient conditions, including vital signs and behavioural changes, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive environment.
- Administer medication as directed and ensure adherence to prescribed routines.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient needs and progress.
- Support with light domestic tasks within care settings or clients’ homes as required.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within busy environments.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans electronically.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a caring attitude towards vulnerable individuals.
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for all necessary procedures.
