Sous Chef / Senior Chef
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Sous Chef / Senior Chef to join our busy kitchen team.
We pride ourselves on serving fresh, quality food cooked from scratch and are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has high standards and enjoys working in a busy kitchen environment.
The Role
Working alongside the Head Chef, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You will help ensure food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard while supporting the team during busy restaurant services, functions and weddings.
During peak season, the kitchen can cater for multiple weddings each week alongside regular restaurant and function trade, so the ability to remain organised and calm under pressure is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef with the daily running of the kitchen.
- Prepare and cook fresh food to a high standard.
- Maintain consistent quality, presentation and portion control.
- Supervise and support the kitchen team.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
- Assist with ordering, stock control and reducing food waste.
- Work efficiently during busy restaurant services, functions and weddings.
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional kitchen.
- Contribute ideas to menus and kitchen operations.
- Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence when required.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous Sous Chef, Senior Chef or strong Chef de Partie experience.
- Is confident working in a quality, busy kitchen.
- Takes pride in producing fresh food from scratch.
- Has excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Can remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Has a good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
- Is reliable, hardworking and professional.
- Is ready to take on responsibility and progress within the kitchen team.
- Has their own transport where required.
