Accounts Assistant

Head of Finance
Purpose of the Role
We are looking for an organised and proactive Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our finance function while contributing to the ongoing improvement of our systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
· Process purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
· Processing customer orders received via email & telephone.
· Maintain supplier and customer accounts including set up.
· Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements and key balance sheet accounts.
· Assist with payment runs and credit control activities.
· Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
· Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
· Respond professionally to supplier and customer queries.
· Support the Admin team with daily reporting and administrative tasks.
· Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and help implement practical, efficient solutions.
· Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company policies and financial controls.
· Produce quarterly commercial reports on both sales & purchase ledger.
Skills & Experience
Essential
· Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance & administrative role.
· Good understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
· Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
· Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
· Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Ability to work independently & on own initiative.
Desirable
· AAT qualification (or studying towards one).
· Experience of ERP or cloud-based accounting systems.
· Experience supporting process improvement or system changes.

Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
