This is a dual-responsibility role: you will ensure road safety through meticulous MOT inspections while also performing high-quality repairs and servicing.Key Responsibilities* MOT Testing: Conduct thorough DVSA-compliant MOT tests * Diagnostics & Repairs: Use computer-based equipment to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.* General Maintenance: Perform routine servicing, including brake and exhaust fitting, cam belt changes, and suspension work.* Compliance: Maintain accurate digital records via the MOT Testing Service and ensure the testing bay meets all health and safety regulations.* Customer Care: Communicate findings clearly to customers and provide honest advice on necessary repairs.Essential Requirements (2026 Standards)* Qualifications: A valid, current MOT Tester licence (Class 4/7) and a Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (e.g., NVQ, IMI, or City & Guilds).* Experience: Minimum of 4 years’ full-time experience in a professional workshop.* Documentation: A valid UK Driving Licence
