Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Milling Setter/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, tooling, and precision measurement, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. The successful applicant will contribute to efficient production workflows and uphold safety standards within the workshop environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC Milling machines according to technical drawings and specifications, ensuring precise calibration and alignment.
- Operate CNC equipment for milling, to produce components with tight tolerances.
- Monitor machine operations during production runs, adjusting parameters as necessary to maintain quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of CNC machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised tooling to assist with machine setup and component assembly when required.
- Conduct basic mathematical calculations for measurements, tolerances, and material estimations.
- Assist in the selection and installation of tooling for various machining tasks.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production activities and quality checks.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols within the workshop environment.

Requirements
- Proven experience with CNC setting and operation in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of tooling, hand tools, power tools, and basic machine maintenance.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure precision in all tasks.
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret engineering specifications accurately.
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to machining processes.
