Job Overview
An opportunity has become available to undertake a Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship.
The successful candidate will be placed in a community pharmacy close to their home. They will spend four days per week working in the pharmacy and one day attending college or completing structured training.
Main duties will include:
- Receiving and handling prescriptions
- Dispensing and issuing medicines to patients
- Advising patients about their medicines
- Explaining how medicines should be used and discussing possible side effects
- Selling over-the-counter medicines and products
- Ordering, receiving, storing and issuing pharmaceutical stock
- Supporting the safe and effective operation of the pharmacy
- Developing accuracy-checking skills, including completing final checks once appropriately trained and authorised
Entry requirements:
- GCSE Mathematics and English Language at grades 9–4 or A*–C, or equivalent qualifications
- A genuine interest in progressing towards registration as a Pharmacy Technician
- Good communication, organisational and customer-service skills
- A willingness to learn while working in a professional healthcare environment
- Commitment to completing the full 24-month apprenticeship programme
