We're now looking for someone who shares those values to join us as a Cleaning Supervisor.
About the Role
Working Monday to Friday from 7am–10am, you'll oversee and support our morning cleaning teams across a number of our sites.
A large part of the role involves travelling between sites during your shift, checking cleaning standards, supporting team members and making sure everything is running as it should. Most of our sites are within Manchester City Centre and within walking distance of each other, although some travel to sites in Salford may also be required.
Any travel costs incurred while travelling between sites as part of your working day will be paid for by Olico.
This isn't a role where you'll simply tick boxes on a checklist. We want someone who takes ownership of their sites, notices when something isn't right and takes the initiative to sort it.
It's also a hands-on position. There will be times when you'll need to get involved with cleaning yourself, whether that's helping a team member, dealing with something that needs attention or providing cover when required.
Your contracted hours will be 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 7am–10am. From time to time, there may also be opportunities to work additional hours – for example, extending a shift during particularly busy periods or occasionally providing cover for our evening supervisor.
These additional hours won't be an everyday expectation, but we're looking for someone with a flexible, team-focused approach who is happy to help out when they can and understands the importance of pulling together to make sure the job gets done.
What You'll Be Doing
- Travelling between our sites to check standards and support our cleaning teams.
- Carrying out regular site checks and making sure our customers consistently receive the high standards they expect.
- Supervising, supporting and encouraging our cleaning operatives.
- Making sure scheduled cleaning tasks are completed correctly and on time.
- Spotting things that need attention and taking action rather than waiting to be asked.
- Providing hands-on cleaning support and cover when required.
- Helping new team members settle in, understand their role and meet the standards expected at Olico.
- Identifying and reporting maintenance, stock or operational issues.
- Making sure cleaning equipment and products are being used safely and correctly.
- Promoting good health & safety practices across our sites.
- Communicating clearly with Olico's management team about any issues, concerns or areas requiring attention.
- Taking pride in the appearance of the buildings you're responsible for.
- Occasionally supporting with additional hours or evening supervisor cover when you're available.

About You
Previous cleaning experience is important for this role. Previous supervisory experience would be an advantage, but it isn't essential. We'd also love to hear from experienced cleaners who feel ready to take the next step.
You'll ideally be:

- Confident speaking to and supporting different people.
- Comfortable travelling between different sites throughout your shift.
- Organised and able to prioritise your own time.
- Proactive and comfortable dealing with problems as they arise.
- Someone who naturally notices when standards could be improved.

- Happy to get stuck in and work alongside the team when needed.
- Flexible and willing to help with additional hours occasionally when you're able to.
- A team player who understands that sometimes everyone needs to pull together to make sure the job gets done.
