We are seeking a dedicated Fish and Chips Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team. Duties
- Prepare fresh fish and chips according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all ingredients are stored correctly and used within their shelf life
- Cook food items to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and stock rotation
- Serve customers efficiently, providing friendly and professional service when required
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting new ideas or improvements
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably within a restaurant or catering environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience in meal preparation, particularly with fish dishes or traditional British cuisine is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and a friendly attitude towards colleagues and customers
- Previous restaurant experience is advantageous but not essential for highly motivated candidates willing to learn
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if required
