Looking for more than just an apprenticeship?
At Camira, we're offering the opportunity to begin a structured 5-year career pathway designed to develop the next generation of textile manufacturing and engineering professionals.
You'll start by completing a Textile Manufacturing Operative Apprenticeship, gaining hands-on experience within our Carding & Spinning department while earning a recognised qualification.
After approximately 15 months, you'll progress onto the next stage of your development by undertaking an Engineering qualification, allowing you to build specialist technical skills and continue your journey towards becoming a highly skilled engineer within our manufacturing business.
Throughout the programme, you'll earn while you learn, receive support from experienced mentors, and gain practical experience using industry-leading machinery in a global manufacturing company with over 200 years of textile expertise.

What you'll be doing
As part of our manufacturing team, you'll learn how to produce high-quality yarns used in premium fabrics supplied across the world.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Learning how to prepare fibres for the carding process.
- Supporting the operation of modern spinning machinery.
- Checking yarn quality and identifying any faults.
- Recording production information accurately.
- Carrying out routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance.
- Working safely while following quality, environmental and health & safety procedures.

We don't expect you to have previous textile experience as we'll teach you everything you need to know.
You'll be someone who:
- Has a genuine interest in manufacturing, engineering or textiles.

- Is reliable, enthusiastic and keen to learn.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Is willing to work shifts when required.
