Youth Connect South West (YCSW) is a young people's charity in Bath and North East Somerset. We provide a range of services to support young people to enjoy today, prepare for tomorrow, and become the people they want to be.
Are you passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes? We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Engagement Worker to join our Targeted Support Team.
Working as part of the Targeted Support Programme, you will provide practical and emotional support to young people facing barriers such as family difficulties, low-level mental health challenges, bullying, and disengagement from education, training or employment.
About the Role
Contract Type: This is an initial fixed-term contract until May 2027. There is potential for the role to be extended beyond this period, subject to confirmation of future contract arrangements.
You will:

Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.

Assess needs and develop tailored support plans.

Act as Lead Professional and coordinate multi-agency support where appropriate.

Deliver one-to-one interventions.

Support young people into education, training, employment and positive activities.

Work closely with families, schools and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for young people.

Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and early help processes.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:

Experience working directly with young people.
-
Experience supporting young people into education, training or employment.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

The ability to assess needs, write plans and manage a varied caseload.

A commitment to inclusion, equality and enabling young people's voices to be heard.
Level 3 qualification in Youth Work, Information Advice and Guidance, or equivalent experience supporting young people is essential.

Salary Information:
We use job evaluation to assess the relative value of roles based on educational standards, responsibility, accountability, complexity, and autonomy. This evaluation determines the role’s position within our pay structure.
Starting pay for new starters is set within the evaluated salary range for the role and is determined by objective criteria including relevant experience, skills and market data. Job evaluation ensures that pay decisions are consistent and defensible.
