Job Description
What we do -
We are a well-established, world-leading and King’s award-winning manufacturer of bespoke protective covers for aviation, marine and land vehicles/craft. Our products are designed and made-to-measure, in-house, by our high-performance team. We sell worldwide and our quality is regarded as the best. Driven by innovation and a fierce Team Spirit. Have a look at our website.
This is a fabulous opportunity for someone looking for a varied sewing machinist job. No two weeks are the same. Varied, interesting and sometimes extraordinary project-based work.
Good, happy, light and bright working environment. This is not a metal box, production line job. Team members experience a definite sense of inclusion in the process. We are a small business and everyone contributes to improve the products.
People only ever seem to leave us when they retire. This position has come up as one of our team will be retiring in 2 years time. And we need to train a replacement machinist.
What we are looking for - a first-class Sewing Machinist
- Ideally you would have good, sound and all-round experience of many machine types and processes. However a minimum of 3yrs sewing experience is needed. It will take us 1- 2 years to train you, no matter how much experience you already have.
- We use single needle, overlocker, zig zag machines as well as a sonic welder.
- We use design drawings which we will teach you how to follow but you must be keen to learn.
- Fluent English speaker
- A keen eye for detail is essential.
- Quality is more important than speed.
- This is NOT production line work.
- Having an imagination and curiosity helps, as does patience and a sense of humour.
- It is important to be a team player who can slot into our small team.
- If you love a challenge - and enjoy problem solving - you will love this sewing job
- A "can-do" attitude is essential.
- A willingness to help others
- A bonus but not essential.... Knowledge of other processes like CNC cutting, thermal printing, operation of cutter plotter, quality control. As you grow within the company there are other tasks that can be helped with.
Please apply by email to Sasha with CV, mobile phone number and email address.
