A leading building services contractor is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join its engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of technically challenging projects across commercial, residential, healthcare, and public-sector sectors.
The Role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical building services systems from concept through to installation and commissioning. You will collaborate closely with design managers, project teams, and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality, compliant solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical building services systems (HVAC, pipework, plant, public health)
- Produce calculations, specifications, schedules, and technical drawings
- Review and coordinate designs with other disciplines and project teams
- Support projects through pre-construction, delivery, and commissioning phases
- Attend design meetings and site visits as required
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and client requirements
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer within building services or MEP contracting
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and design principles
- Experience working on commercial and/or large-scale construction projects
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in industry design software and Microsoft Office
