Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, child-centered support tailored to each young person’s individual needs and care plans
- Build trusting relationships with children, promoting their emotional well-being and social development
- Assist with daily routines including meal preparation, personal hygiene, educational activities, and recreational outings
- Maintain accurate documentation of progress notes, incident reports, and updates to care plans in compliance with organizational policies
- Support children during transitions and challenging situations with patience and positive reinforcement
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, families, social workers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for each child
- Drive company vehicles when necessary for outings or appointments, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a residential or childcare setting is highly desirable
- Valid driving license and ability to drive safely and confidently in various conditions
- Strong childcare skills combined with excellent communication abilities to connect effectively with young people and team members
- Knowledge of creating and implementing care plans that meet individual needs and promote development
- Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping, reporting, and communication purposes
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, demonstrating patience and empathy in challenging situations
- A proactive attitude towards safeguarding procedures and maintaining a safe environment for children
