Full-time hours. Immediate start. Free Teaching Assistant training. A genuine opportunity to secure a permanent position.
Milestone Education is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for a large specialist SEND school in Coalville, and we're looking for people who want more than their next temporary assignment.
The school is seeking candidates with experience supporting SEND—particularly Autism (ASD) and behavioural needs—from either an education or care background.
And if you're a Psychology graduate looking for the practical experience that can turn academic knowledge into a career supporting young people, we want to hear from you too.
The opportunity
You'll initially join the school through Milestone Education on a 12-week temporary placement, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent position.
You'll also receive:
- Level 1 Teaching Assistant course – free of charge
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant course – free of charge
- Excellent rate of pay
- Full-time specialist SEND experience
- Long-term career opportunity
- Support throughout your registration, placement and DBS process
This is an opportunity to earn, learn and build specialist experience at the same time.
What you'll be doing
You'll work alongside experienced education professionals to support pupils with additional needs throughout the school day.
You'll:
- Support pupils with Autism and behavioural needs.
- Work 1:1 and with small groups.
- Help pupils engage positively with learning.
- Encourage independence, communication and confidence.
- Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Build consistent relationships with pupils.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
- Contribute to a safe and supportive learning environment.
Who should apply?
You don't necessarily need to have followed a traditional Teaching Assistant career path.
We'd like to hear from:
- SEND Teaching Assistants
- Learning Support Assistants
- Care and Support Workers
- Behaviour Support Workers
- Psychology graduates
- Candidates with experience supporting Autism
- Candidates experienced in working with behavioural needs
What matters is that you understand the importance of patience, consistency and relationships when supporting young people with additional needs.
You'll need an Enhanced DBS to work within the school. If you don't currently have one, this can be obtained as part of your registration process with Milestone Education.
