We are looking for experienced support workers to join their existing team within a family home in the outskirts of Preston, Lancashire.
We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly, hardworking, reliable and motivated individuals to support a non-verbal 17 year old with epilepsy and complex needs. The role includes helping him with all aspects of his daily life including his personal care, administering medication, keeping him safe at home and in the community and helping him with his therapies. Most importantly, this role would suit someone who likes to play, have fun, will relish working within a busy family household, enjoys being creative and physically active. Please note, due to this young persons mobility needs and strength, this role would best suit someone who is physically fit and in good health.
Applicants must have a full, clean driving license and be comfortable driving a van.
This rewarding role is a full time role with shifts set on a 4 week rolling rota. Within this four weeks there would be three shifts a week for 3 weeks (42hrs per week) and two shifts week for 1 week (28 hours). Shifts are 14 hours long from 07:00 - 21:00.
This role offers a competitive salary of £15.50 per hour during the week and £16.50 per hour at weekends with a pension scheme and annual leave.
Experience of working with young people with disabilities is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided, but a positive attitude, flexibility and good work ethic is essential.
Please note that the family have four dogs so applicants must be comfortable with pets.
