About the role:
This is a hugely rewarding role, of which the main purpose is to support our learners in overcoming the barriers to their learning and to facilitate their engagement in teaching and learning. Working closely with a range of colleagues, you will assist in the educational and social development of learners so they are prepared for a more independent future.
You will play a key role in the planning of work programmes for individuals and groups of students within your caseload and will support to learners inside and outside of the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities and develop their skills.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic college campus, supporting vulnerable learners to overcome barriers to learning in order to progress academically and personally.
About you:
Ideally you will have experience of providing personal or academic support to young people with learning disabilities, whether that is borne from your professional or personal life. However, this is not an essential requirement; we will consider applications from people who can demonstrate that they have transferable skills which will support our learners to engage in learning.
Other role requirements:
- Current in-date training including; PREVENT and First Aid
- Safeguarding training and qualifications at a minimum of Level 2.
- Able to demonstrate having undertaken continuous professional development.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to inspire and mentor others
- Experience of working effectively as part of a team
