Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator & Programmer to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating, programming, and maintaining CNC machinery to produce high-precision components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with CAD/CAM software, and a keen eye for detail. You will be instrumental in ensuring efficient production processes while adhering to safety standards and quality specifications.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and programme CNC machines for various manufacturing tasks, including milling and grinding operations.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications using CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and tooling to assist with machine setup and component assembly.
- Conduct quality checks on finished parts, ensuring they meet specified tolerances and standards.
- Assist in the development of new programmes and optimise existing code for improved efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the engineering team on product development projects involving plastics injection moulding and welding processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery with knowledge of milling, grinding, and programming.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and familiarity with CAM programming techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge related to tooling, assembly, welding, and plastics injection moulding processes.
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately and perform basic maths calculations for measurements and tolerances.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and tooling for machine setup or component assembly.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures within a manufacturing environment.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting involving plastics or metal components is desirable but not essential.
