We’re looking for a reliable and professional Night Trunk Driver to complete a set nightly route to Swadlincote, Derbyshire, supporting our healthcare supply chain.
Schedule: Night shift, 45 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 20:30 – 05:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and load fails and returns at the local depot for delivery to Swadlincote CD.
- Drive a van to and from the Swadlincote depot.
- Load sharps bins at the local depot for transport to Swadlincote.
- On arrival, unload the vehicle and dispose of sharps bins in the appropriate containers.
- Follow the fails and returns procedure, handing over both ambient and chilled items to our team.
- Assist with sortation, final scanning, and vehicle loading at Swadlincote.
- On return to the local depot, unload the vehicle and sort packages into designated routes for our network drivers.
- Ensure all operations comply with safety procedures, GDP, MHRA, and legal standards.
- Support warehouse operations when needed and maintain a professional, collaborative approach.
A Typical Shift Overview
Your shift begins at your local depot, where you’ll load sharps bins along with any fails and returns. Once everything is secured, you’ll set off on your nightly route to our Swadlincote depot.
When you arrive at Swadlincote, you’ll unload the vehicle and dispose of the sharps bins in the appropriate container. You’ll then follow the fails and returns procedure, handing over both ambient and chilled items to the team on site. After that, you’ll assist with sortation, complete the final scanning, and help with loading vehicles for onward deliveries.
Once everything is complete, you’ll return to your local depot. There, you’ll unload your vehicle and sort packages into their designated routes, ready for our network drivers to continue the supply chain.
What You’ll Need
- Full UK Driving Licence (held for at least 3 years, with no more than 6 points).
- Reliability, flexibility, and professionalism.
- Previous van driving experience (preferred)
- Previous warehouse and trunking experience (preferred).
- Good geographical knowledge and strong logical thinking skills.
